the festival

The week the hall overflows

Every October the kirtan family of Rishikesh — joined by singers and friends from all over the world — gathers for five nights of song. Singers take the seat one after another, the drum finds its pulse, and a hall of hundreds slowly becomes one voice.

Kirtan Mela is a shared practice, free and open to every voice. You arrive as audience and leave as choir.
