Some weeks bring something extra — a movie night, a visiting teacher, a festival evening — and evenings occasionally pause for festivals or weather. The WhatsApp community always knows first.

what to expect

An evening with us

1

Arrive

The hall opens around 5:45. Shoes off at the door, take a cushion — we provide them — and settle in. No formal entry — just walk in.

2

Sing — or simply listen

At 6 the kirtan begins — or the talk, on Thursdays. Clap, sing along when you feel ready, or close your eyes. Everyone arrives where they are.

3

Stay for prasad

Around 8 we close with arati and share prasad — sanctified food — and conversation. Nobody hurries out.

A first-time visitor singing softly with closed eyes at a Bhakti Yoga Rishikesh kirtan

Wonderful. Here’s everything you need to know — which is very little.

Arrive a little before 6 — the hall opens around 5:45
No experience needed — no chants to know, no Sanskrit required
Free and open — no ticket, no booking, no donation expected
Wear something light — summer evenings are warm; anything easy to sit cross-legged in
Bring a water bottle — that’s it
